2023 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

This is the fifth release of our limited edition Margaret River Cabernet.
We didn't make it in 2019 as that year WA got a lot of unseasonal rain in February, our winemaker was not happy with the quality of the fruit that year so didn't make a 2019 vintage. 

He felt that the fruit was only ok in 2020 so the Margs fruit went into the Cabernet Merlot (which was a cracker, but sadly sold out now).

However the 2023 vintage was, as we've always said 'the best vintage we've ever seen in WA', its
created this complex, rich & powerful wine that will develop with age in your Cellar.

This is Derek's passion project, he travels around WA looking for special parcels of Cabernet grapes.

He prefers grapes that are hand pruned and hand picked; this grower is as fussy as he is.
We do love Wilyabrup Cabernet, it has a very distinct smell, flavours and finish, clearly we are not the only ones as it has a world renowned reputation.

A beautifully aromatic wine with dark cherries, eucalyptus & a hint of new leather. This vintage is a little more medium bodied with lovely soft blackcurrant & boysenberry. The balance & acidity make for a wine that will age & develop beautifully.
