Love is the Drug

Stevie Wonder. Chaka Khan. Beyoncé. Queen. Bob Marley.

That's just a taste of what's coming to Upper Reach when Lani & Jordan kick off our 2027 Twilight Concert season with Love Is the Drug.

We're talking big vocals, soul, funk, R&B and rock classics. The songs you know before the first chorus, the ones you can't help singing along to, and the ones that make sitting still a bit of a challenge.

Forget the usual Saturday night routine. Get your friends together, book a table at the Restaurant, grab pizza at the TreeHouse or pack a picnic for the lawn. Then settle in for live music as the sun drops behind the vines.

Three sets of live music. Two intervals. Plenty of familiar favourites. And absolutely no need to wait for a special occasion to have a good night out.

Love Is the Drug. Live at Upper Reach Winery. Valentine's Day is the next day, just saying.

Adam Hall & the Soul Playboys

Soul, funk and serious musical firepower.

Adam Hall & the Soul Playboys bring the kind of live energy that makes sitting still a challenge. Expect powerhouse vocals, punchy brass and irresistible grooves, with a set spanning Stevie Wonder, Prince and Michael Jackson through to Bruno Mars and Justin Timberlake.

These are the songs that get the room moving. The bass lines, the brass, the hooks you know by heart — all delivered by world-class musicians who know how to turn a great song into a full-on live experience.

Whether you're first up on the dance floor or need a little encouragement from your friends, this is your chance to let loose.

Add a summer evening, a glass of Swan Valley wine and the vineyard setting at Upper Reach, and you've got the makings of a brilliant night out.

70s & 80s Funk, Soul & Disco

The era of powerhouse voices, unforgettable grooves and songs that still fill a dance floor.

Lani & Jordan bring the best of 70s and 80s funk, soul, disco and pop to Upper Reach, celebrating artists including Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Chaka Khan, Whitney Houston, Diana Ross and Womack & Womack.

These were artists who knew how to command a stage and make a song their own. From funk-driven rhythms to soaring vocals and disco classics, the music spans two decades of extraordinary talent, with hit after hit that has stood the test of time.

Bring your friends, settle in with a glass of Swan Valley wine and enjoy a night of live music among the vines. And if the music gets you out of your seat, even better.

Saturday 13 March 2027

Velvet Playboys & Adam Hall

Sharp suits. Swinging rhythms. A little swagger never hurt anyone.

The Velvet Playboys return with Adam Hall for a night of slick jazz, jumping rhythm and blues, and classics from the likes of Louis Prima, Sammy Davis Jr, Harry Connick Jr, Jackie Wilson, Chuck Berry and The Blues Brothers.

Forget the usual concert formula. This is old-school entertainment with plenty of character — part jazz club, part rhythm-and-blues revue, with music that knows how to have a good time without needing to shout about it.

Dress up if you feel like it. Come as you are if you don't. Either way, expect a night with a bit of class and a mischievous streak.

Questions

Good to Know

What time does the music start and finish?

The bands start to play at 6.30pm. They play three sets with two intervals and the music finishes at 9.30pm. Doors open at 5.45pm.

Can we bring our own chairs?

General admission ticketholders are welcome to bring picnic rugs and low, concert style chairs. If you bring a high backed chair you will be seated to the rear of the venue.

Can I arrive early?

Doors open from 5.45pm. Arrive early, grab a spot on the lawn and enjoy a glass of wine while the sun sets over the vineyard.

What is for dinner at The Restaurant?

Three courses with a choice in every course. Have a look at the dinner menu.

I have booked dinner in The Restaurant, what time is my booking?

If you have booked Dinner & Show you have a table in the restaurant for the whole night. Most people arrive about 6pm to be seated and organised for the start of the music. Tables are allocated according to the date of booking.

How do I get my pizza?

When you buy your ticket you choose a timeslot for your pizza: 5.45 to 6.30pm, 6.45 to 7.30pm, or after 7.30pm. Once your timeslot begins, come up to the TreeHouse Bar to order. You will be given a buzzer so you can collect it when it is ready. Have a look at the pizza menu.

I am gluten free, what can I eat?

The Restaurant offers a variety of gluten free options for restaurant guests, and we have gluten free pizza bases for an extra $5. If you have a severe food allergy please make this clear in the food allergy section when you book your ticket, and tell us again when you order your pizza on the night.

Can I bring drinks?

It is strictly no BYO alcohol. Wine, draught beer, no alcohol beer and soft drinks are available for purchase. Pay a deposit and use our wine glasses, or bring your own. We are sure you will enjoy our award winning wines, especially when surrounded by the vines they are grown on.

Can I bring my own food?

General admission ticket holders may bring their own picnic. There is of course no BYO food in The Restaurant.

I want to sit on the lawn, can I still order a pizza, dessert or a cheese board?

You can pre-order dessert or a cheeseboard from the TreeHouse Bar. We cannot guarantee you will be able to buy a pizza on the day, so a Pizza & Show ticket is the safer bet.

What about tea and coffee?

If you have a general admission or Pizza & Show ticket you will need to BYO tea and coffee. The Restaurant can only serve hot drinks to guests with Dinner & Show tickets.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket?

Yes please, although do not worry if you forget. We will have your name on the gate list and you can show your tickets on your phone.

What happens if rain is forecast?

This is a rain or shine event, so the show will go on and no refunds are offered. If for any reason we need to cancel we will offer you a full refund, an alternative date or a wine credit.

What is the refund policy?

Strictly no refunds or transfers after ticket purchase. Full details are on the concert refund policy.

Went today for the Wednesday with 2 other couples for the $55.00 lunch. Value for money 10/10. Our friends who we invited were delighted with the food and surroundings. I had the lamb for entree and pork for mains. Simply amazing. All the other dishes were sensational. This place is worth a try. Also brought wine and joined the wine club. Will be going back.

FYI NOT DOG FRIENDLY although on the occasion we visited we were welcomed due to the ongoing misunderstanding. Great spot! Everyone is very welcome, lovely wine and the pizza is delicious. 10/10 will recommend and visit again.

This was my 3rd time at Upper Reach restaurant, and this time I went with friends. The food and wine were absolutely delicious—we ordered a variety of entrées and mains to share, and loved every single dish. The atmosphere is incredible and so peaceful, perfect for a relaxing lunch. The service was outstanding: the staff were very attentive, friendly. Even though it was quite busy, we never felt overlooked or waited long for anything. A wonderful experience all around! I had previously also been to the Treehouse on the same property, and the pizza there was excellent too—crispy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection in the woodfire Pizza oven!

2026 - This winery sits on stunning grounds with a beautifully arranged wine‑tasting cellar, individual bar, restaurant, and plenty of inviting spaces to relax; whether you prefer picnicking on the grass or unwinding at the shaded tables. The overall atmosphere is lovely and perfect for a leisurely day out, and while the wine‑tasting experience itself felt a little subdued and could benefit from some additional seating in the cellar door, the setting more than compensates. It’s also a dog‑friendly spot, and although I’d keep visiting dogs out of the tasting room to ensure everyone feels comfortable, meeting Poppy (the owners’ charming golden retriever) was an absolute delight and added a warm, personal touch to the visit.
