This is a unique opportunity to get a behind the scenes understanding of how wine is made from the Upper Reach’s owners; ideal for both interested wine novices and those with a good understanding of wine.
We will take you through the whole winemaking process, starting in the vineyard with growing the grapes, through to how we make the wines and a look at oak barrel aging. This personal tour will reflect your interests and answer all your questions about what it’s like to live and work on a vineyard!
This instructed tour of our winery will take approx 45 minutes and then will conclude with a tasting of a selection of our current release wines in Cellar Door.
We look forward to showing you around!
PS personally we’d finish up with a lazy lunch at Broads Restaurant at Upper Reach.
“My partner and I signed on for a ‘get your hands dirty’ experience at Upper Reach during the Swan Valley vintage weekend.
It was most interesting, the winery owner and winemaker spent an hour taking us through the winery, showing us the grapes being squeezed by a machine. We had the opportunity to take part in a “pumpover” of messy red grape juice that was fermenting. Many questions were answered.
The session included a full tasting of every wine for sale.
The buildings and cellar door area is beautiful, with lovely views across the vines including a majestic eucalypt.
Excellent value. Recommended.”
